Planning process

  • To start to plan a maze, it is good to plan it on paper.
  • It always helps to know the size of big/jumbo bales, which you will get. It is also good to know haw many bale you can count on (whether the tractor/ truck comes delivers bales once or twice.)
  • To think if you want to combine it with small bales…
  • It is inevitable to go to see the place. (Building site)
  • It is necessary to find out the restrictions and safety rules, not to build close to a house, or close to structures, which are flammable.
  • You have to find out what are the temporary building plans around the maze. (Will there be toilets? Or stand with grilled food?)
  • It is necessary to provide fire engine at the place. (For safety reasons)
  • It has to be clear who takes responsibility of the building the maze, and guard the maze when it is open during the day, closed during the night, who is responsible for any injuries.
  • The notes, rules how to behave at the maze have to be visibly placed.

However, children ignore it anyway, so it is more for adults to be responsible for their kids. Kids are on the straw maze uncontrollably wild and verry happy.
