Which collectors are available?

For solar thermal applications, different collector types up to hybrid collectors are available on the market. In almost all cases, however, glazed flat-plate collectors are currently being installed for reasons of cost, among others. In 2010, this was around 94 % in Austria, while only around 4 % were vacuum tube collectors installed, the remaining 2 % were air collectors and unglazed flat-plate collectors for swimming pool heating.
